Box Score 2 Springfield, Ohio - DePauw moved to 26-6 overall and 10-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference following a doubleheader sweep at Wittenberg by scores of 5-0 and 7-4. Wittenberg slipped to 12-13 overall and 3-5 in conference play.
In the opener, DePauw took a 1-0 lead in the first as Chase Epp led off with a walk and pinch-runner Macey Cox stole second, moved to third on Caleigh Cramer's sacrifice bunt and scored on an error on a failed pickoff at third.
Drew Bratcher doubled in the second and scored on Paige Price's double to make it 2-0. DePauw added two more in the fourth as Goose Moore and Lily Jennings came home on Grace Smith's bunt single. Ali Dierks drove home Yasmin McClellan in the seventh with a sacrifice fly.
Bratcher, Smith and Price each had two of DePauw's seven hits, while three different Wittenberg players had one hit apiece.
Kandra Butcher improved to 2-0 after allowing three hits in four innings, while Cami Henry picked up her first save after three innings of hitless relief. Wittenberg's Samantha Zungri dropped to 2-3.
Drew Bratcher blasted a two-run homer in the second inning of game two and Katerina Kilgore added RBI singles in the second and fourth innings to give DePauw a 4-0 lead. Riley Heim scored on a wild pitch in the fifth before Bratcher drove in Price with a fifth-inning single. Smith's solo homer in the seventh made it 7-0.
The combination of Henry and Kersten Brayton took a no-hitter into the seventh, but Wittenberg scored four on Hanna Ecker's two-run double and Alexis Christy's two-run single.
Moore, Smith, Price, Bratcher and Kilgore each had two of DePauw's 14 hits. Three different Wittenberg players had one hit each.
Henry improved to 19-5 with Wittenberg's Kira van Ravensburg dropping to 6-8.
DePauw hosts Ohio Wesleyan in a 4 p.m. doubleheader on Tuesday, April 26.
