St. Louis, Mo.- The DePauw women's track and field team competed in the WashU Distance Carnival and secured 57 points for a fourth-place finish at the WashU Invite this past weekend.
The Tigers' Meredith Sierpina and Sophie Porter had DePauw's top two times in the 5,000-meter run, with Sierpina finishing in 18:16.53 and Porter coming in at 18:37.42. The Tigers' top-two finishes during the WashU Distance Carnival were Maddie Perry and Rachel Cook, who ran in the 10,000-meter run. Perry finished in 40:34.05 while Cook finished in 42:27.09.
Leading DePauw in top-ten finishes was Erin Pasch, who earned first in the javelin throw (35.54m), and second-place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles (14.67) and 400-meter dash (58.24). In the 400-meter hurdles, Seelye Stoffregen earned third place with a time of 1:09.12 and took sixth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.71).
In field events Abby Hartman tied for fourth in high jump, jumping 1.50m, while Emma Stemen took fifth in pole vault, after vaulting 3:15m. Earning DePauw's final two individual top-ten finishes were Jaida Smith, who finished seventh in long jump (4.92m), and Reanna Stiehler, who earned seventh place in hammer throw (37.59m).
Smith, Lily Boston, Alexis Cagan, and Katie McKinley would finish fifth in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 51.22. In the 4x400, Charlotte Borland, Annalise Grammel, Stoffregen, and Pasch finished fourth with a time of 4:04.55.
The Tigers' next meet is the Huntsman Family Invitational at Wabash College on Saturday, April 9.
