Crawfordsville, Ind.- The DePauw men's track and field team finished fifth at the Huntsman Family Invitational hosted by Wabash.
The Tigers completed the meet with 89.5 points with 17 top-ten finishes. Michael Ocasek ran the 5,000-meter run in 15:20.13, earning DePauw's first of two first-place finishes. Teammate Jacob Kissling finished third with a time of 15:50.43, followed by Nate Seketa, who ran it in 15:58.07 to take fourth place.
DePauw's Matt Rowley finished second in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:04.94, and Jacob Bailey took eighth with a time of 4:25.05. In the 3,000-meter steeplechase Thomas Brelage took second (10:06.12), Henry Streib finished third with a time of 10:27.63, and Alex Hlade finished fifth (11:21.37). In the 800-meter run, Jack Rutstein finished seventh with a time of 2:01.80.
Darren McLaurin finished eighth in the 100-meter dash (11.19) and the 200-meter dash (22.88). In the 110 meter hurdles, Daniel Jansen also finished eighth with a time of 16.98.
Jansen, Callaway Bird, Streib, and Ocasek took second place in the 4x400 relay after finishing it in 3:34.97.
In field events, Bennett DeCoursey earned DePauw's second first-place finish of the afternoon in discus throw with a throw of 46.58. Garrett Elkins tied for second place in high jump after jumping 1.80m; Carson Watson and Jansen rounded out the DePauw top-ten field finishers in the long jump. Watson took second place with a jump of 6.53m, while Jansen took fifth with 6.25m.
The Tigers return to Greencastle, Ind., for the Indiana DIII Meet. The meet is set to start at 11 am EDT in Blackstock Stadium
