Pasch Breaks DePauw's Heptathlon Record and Wins Margaret Simmons Invitational

Murray, Ky.- DePauw's track and field senior Erin Pasch broke the Tigers' heptathlon record after recording 4,978 points to take first place in the Margaret Simmons Invitational hosted by Murray State University.

Pasch started day one of the invitational with a second-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (15.22 ) for 813 points, followed by a high jump of 1.53 (5' 1/4) for 655. In shot put, Pasch threw 11.81m (38'9'') for 649 points and finished day one with 822 more points after finishing in second in the 200-meter dash (25.72).

Day two of the invite, Pasch continued to find success, jumping 5.37m in the long jump for 663 points, followed by a javelin throw of 37.01m (121'5''), a personal best. In the final event of the heptathlon, Erin ran the 800-meter run in 2:24.32  for 766 points. Pasch's total eclipsed her Division I opponents by over 400 points, and she improved her personal best heptathlon score by just under 200 points.

The Tigers compete in the WashU Invite on Friday, April 1, and Saturday, April 2.
