Greencastle, Ind.-The DePauw men's indoor track and field team finished second out of eight with 124 points in the Tim Hreha Memorial Invitational.
The Tigers completed its home-opening meet with 12 top-three finishes, sweeping the 5000 meter and 1-mile runs.
In the field events, Bennett DeCoursey pulled in 16 points for the Tigers after taking second in the weight throw (15.18 m, 49.09.75) and shot put (13.80, 45.03.50). Garrett Elkins recorded six more points after taking third in the high jump with a height of 1.78 m(5-10.00).
DePauw swept the top three finishes in the 1-mile and 5000-meter run. Michael Ocasek earned first-place in the 1 mile run with a time of 4:23.95, followed by Bailey Scott (4:24.64) and Hudson Alden finished third with a time of 4:26.05. In the 5000-meter run, Ford Baker finished in first with a time of 15:15.51, while teammate Matt Rowley took second (15:18.07), and Jacob Kissling finished in third (15:22.86).
Scott would finish first in the 800-meter run (2:00.38), while fellow Tiger Alden finishing in 2:02.16 for third-place. Nate Seketa rounded out the top three long-distance run finishes with a second-place finish in the 3000-meter run (9:05.57).
The Tigers finished just 4.5 points behind first place and look to build off today's this finish back in the ITT next week as it hosts the DePauw Indoor Invitational on Saturday, February 12 at 11 am EST.
