Springfield, Ohio- The DePauw University men's indoor track and field team finished the Wittenberg Invitational with 12 top-ten finishes.
The Tigers' tallied four top-ten finishes in the field events, with Bennett DeCoursey leading the way with a second-place finish in shot put (15.25) and a ninth-place finish in the weight throw (15.54m). Joshy Kaluwasha finished fourth in triple jump with a final jump of 12.45m, while Garrett Elkins jumped 1.80m in the high jump to take fifth place.
Michael Ocasek finished the afternoon with two sixth-place finishes, the first in the 1-mile run (4:17.02) the second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.66. Also running the 800-meter run was Callaway Bird, who finished with a time of 1:58.06 for 10th-place. Jacob Kissling would come in seventh after six unattached runners in the 3,000-meter run (8:50.99), while Zane Williams earned an eighth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:28.73.
In sprints and relays, the Tigers continued to find success. Ayo Laleye took fifth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.38 and ran the third leg in the 4 x 200 relay alongside Darren McClaurin, Christian Troupe, and BJ Lomax, where they finished second in 1:32.95. The Tigers earned one more top-five finish in the 4x400 meter relay when Bird, Ocasek, Henry Streib, and Bailey Scot ran a 3:33.78 for fifth place.
DePauw travels back to Wittenberg on Friday, February 25, for the NCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
