Greencastle, Ind.- Three members of the DePauw volleyball team were named to College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District ® Team. Olivia Karwin, Jessica Levy, and Katie Gansle are among those named by the CSC and recognized as the nation's top student-athletes for their combined efforts in the classroom and on the field.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late December.
Setter Olivia Karwin (So., Menifee, Calif./ Paloma Valley) finished the season second on the team with 209 kills and 2.38 kills per set and ranked third with 2.28 assists per set. She was tied for 15th in the nation with two triple-doubles, and her performance on the court garnered an all-NCAC first-team nod.
Jessica Levy (Sr., Elmhurst, Ill./York), an outside hitter, finished the season fourth on the team in digs (168) and kills (155). Levy completed her career at DePauw with a 1.89 kills per set average this season and totaled 591.5 points.
Katie Gansle (So., Cincinnati, Ohio/ Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy), an outside hitter, led the Tigers this season with 215 kills and 2.29 kills per set, as well as 229 digs and 2.45 digs per set. Gansle's performance this season earned her a spot on the all-NCAC third team.
