Indianapolis, Ind.- DePauw men's indoor track and field team opened its 2022-23 season at the University of Indianapolis Season Opener with five members representing the Tigers.
 
Bennett DeCoursey and Garrett Elkins earned second-place finishes in their events. DeCoursey earned second in shot put after throwing 16.16 meters (53'.25"), while Elkins jumped a height of 1.90 meters (6'2.75") in high jump.
 
Daniel Jansen competed in two events across the afternoon and earned third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.83 seconds and took ninth in high jump with a height of 1.80 meters (5'10.75").
 
Ayo Laleye would also compete in two events, earning a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.12 seconds and a fifth-place finish in the 200- meter run (23.53). Just behind Laleye was Grant Hunt, who completed the 200-meter run with a time of 23.56 for sixth place. 
 
The Tigers will take a winter recess and return to competition on Friday, January 20. DePauw will compete in the Rose-Hulman Friday Night Spikes Series, with a meet start time of 6 p.m.
