Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw moved to 8-1 overall and 7-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference following a 72-0 win over visiting Oberlin on a windy, damp day on Nick Mourouzis Field at Blackstock Stadium. The Yeomen dropped to 0-9 overall and 0-7 in conference play.
With the win, the Tigers remained tied with Wabash atop the NCAC standings and the two teams will square off next Saturday in the Monon Bell Game with the conference title and the conference's automatic qualification into the NCAA postseason on the line. The Tigers scored touchdowns on their first three possessions as
Gus Baumgartner scored on a 4-yard run followed by
Drew Moore's 8-yard run and
Trey Shaw's 10-yard reception from
Wally Renie.
Joseph Sullivan's 22-yard field goal early in the second pushed the lead to 24-0 before
Robby Ballentine and Shaw each caught scoring passes from Renie to make it 37-0 at halftime.
Collin Knecht rushed for three touchdowns in the second half, while Ballentine scored on an 11-yard pass from
Nathan McCahill and
Nate Glazebrook picked off a pass and returned it 44 yards for a score.
DePauw totaled 298 rushing yards in 44 carries as Baumgartner totaled 89 in eight carries and Knecht had 68 in six tries.
Renie completed 7-of-10 passes for 82 yards and three scores, while Knecht was 4-of-5 for 73 yards and McCahill 2-of-2 for 24 yards and a touchdown.
Shaw caught six passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns, while Ballentine had three catches for 35 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Evan Smith-Rooks completed 6-of-21 passes for 46 yards with four going to Brian Colarusso for 39 yards.

Jonathan Bruder each had three tackles for DePauw.
Joey Roland and
Luke Marsh each had one sack.
Brandon Hall led Oberlin with 12 tackles and Hunter Green had 10.
DePauw totaled 28 first downs to Oberlin's three and the Tigers outgained the Yeomen, 477-56.
NOTES
- The Tigers' 72 points were the fifth-most in a game in school history and the most since they scored 74 in a 74-0 win over Franklin on October 14, 1905.
- The shutout was DePauw's fourth of the season since 1948 when the Tigers blanked five opponents.
- The Tigers' 10 touchdowns and nine PATs tied the modern-day school records.
