Chicago, Ill.- In a highly contested meet, the DePauw men's swimming team finished eighth out of 13 teams at the Phoenix Fall Classic hosted by the University of Chicago.

The Tigers completed the three-day meet with a total of 234.5 points, with senior
Ben Hilfinger leading DePauw in both relay and individual points earned.

Hilfinger finished the weekend with a seventh-place finish in the 50 free (20.88), tied for fourth place in the 100 free (45.49), and earned a second-place finish with a time of 48.60 in the 100 butterfly.

DePauw tallied three top-ten relay finishes throughout the meet. In the 200 freestyle relay, DePauw's
James Shorney,
Michael Ray,
Robbie Sheffield, and Hilfinger finished ninth with a time of 1:25.41.

Hilfinger,
Brock Kinnamon,
Will Plumb, and
Braden Mallery finished 10th in the 800 free relay with a time of 7:03.03, while Shorney, Kinnamon, Ray, and Hilfinger earned 10th in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:07.9.

The University of Chicago won the Phoenix Fall Classic with a point total of 1,712.
