Greencastle, Ind.- DePauw junior midfielder/forward
Marley Heitman (Lake Bluff, Ill./ Lake Forest) has been named North Coast Athletic Conference Field Hockey Athlete of the Week for her performance in last week's shutout over Earlham College and Denison University.
Â
Heitman scored the game-winning goal in both matchups for four total points between the two games. In DePauw's 4-0 victory over the Quakers, she put in the Tigers' first goal of the game following a pass from
Margaret Volpe off a corner attempt.
Â
In the tightly contested matchup against Denison to determine which team would be crowned regular season NCAC champion, Heitman settled a pass from
Alexandra May in a scramble in front of the Big Red's goal and put the Tigers up 1-0 midway through the third period. Despite being outshot 12-3 by Denison, DePauw held to its lead and finished conference play 8-0, securing the No. 1 seed and hosting privileges for the NCAC Field Hockey Semifinals.
Â
DePauw hosts Allegheny College on Tuesday, November 1, at Reavis Stadium. The game starts at 3 p.m., with the gates opening at 2 p.m.
