Heitman Named NCAC Field Hockey Athlete of the Week

Greencastle, Ind.- DePauw junior midfielder/forward Marley Heitman (Lake Bluff, Ill./ Lake Forest) has been named North Coast Athletic Conference Field Hockey Athlete of the Week for her performance in last week's shutout over Earlham College and Denison University.

Heitman scored the game-winning goal in both matchups for four total points between the two games. In DePauw's 4-0 victory over the Quakers, she put in the Tigers' first goal of the game following a pass from Margaret Volpe off a corner attempt.

In the tightly contested matchup against Denison to determine which team would be crowned regular season NCAC champion, Heitman settled a pass from Alexandra May in a scramble in front of the Big Red's goal and put the Tigers up 1-0 midway through the third period. Despite being outshot 12-3 by Denison, DePauw held to its lead and finished conference play 8-0, securing the No. 1 seed and hosting privileges for the NCAC Field Hockey Semifinals.

DePauw hosts Allegheny College on Tuesday, November 1, at Reavis Stadium. The game starts at 3 p.m., with the gates opening at 2 p.m.
