Greencastle, Ind.- Recording nine first-place finishes and two event sweeps, the DePauw men's team beat the Bethel University (Ind.) Pilots 154-130 at home.

The Tigers opened up its dual meet against the Pilots with a first and third-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay.
Jimmy Anderson,
Patrick Unterreiner,
Ben Hilfinger, and
James Shorney finished first with a time of 1:39.74; while
Nathan Turner,
Luke Christensen,
Parker Fleischman-Ament, and
Ethan Marunde came in third with a time of 1:43.92.

In the individual events, Hilfinger led DePauw in first-place finishes with two, taking first in the 200-yard free (1:47.15) and in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 51.27. The Tigers completed the afternoon with four more first-place finishers. Unterreiner took first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.66),
Robbie Sheffield led a DePauw sweep in the 50-yard free (22.25), while Turner earned first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:04.27 and
Max Van Doran completed the 100-yard backstroke in 57.01 for another Tiger sweep.

Turner finished just behind Van Doran in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.08, followed closely by Anderson with a time of 57.57 for third place. Completing DePauw's 50-yard free sweep was Shorney (22.47) and
Michael Ray, who finished third with a time of 22.55. The two of them would place second and third, respectively, in the 100-yard free as well, with Shorney finishing it in 49.14 seconds, followed by Ray with a time of 50.19.

Will Plumb completed the afternoon with two top-three finishes; Plumb finished third in the 200-yard backstroke (2:08.93) and took second in the 1000-yard free with a time of 10:40.20.
Braden Mallery would complete the 1000-yard free in 10:41.41 for third.
Brock Kinnamon took home two top-three finishes; he finished third in the 500-yard free (5:03.92) and came in second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:04.59), just ahead of
Alex Russo, who finished in third with a time of 2:09.80.

Among the individual top-three finishers were
Eli VanHaaren, who swam the 100-yard butterfly and finished third with a time of 56.75;
Evan Villeneuve finished third in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:31.27, and Unterreiner, who took second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.51).

The Tigers closed out the meet similar to how they started, with two teams finishing in the top three. Sheffield, Shorney, Marunde, and Hilfinger finished first in the 200-yard free relay with a time of 1:27.89, while Fleischman-Ament, Ray, Anderson, and Kinnamon finished with a time of 1:31.98 for third.

DePauw hits the road next week to compete in the Davenport Quad out in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from Friday, November 4, through Saturday, November 5.
