Tigers Fall to the Fightin' Engineers, 169-11

Terre Haute, Ind.- The DePauw men's swim team fell to Rose-Hulman 169-111 in its first meet of the new year.

The Tigers completed the dual with six individual first-place finishes and a total of 16 top-three finishes throughout the meet.

James Shorney led the charge for DePauw, pulling in two first-place finishes, the 50-yard free (21.44) and the 100-yard free (48.29), and a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.36.

Rounding out the individual first-place finishes was Brock Kinnamon, who finished the 200-yard butterfly in 2:00.68, Alex Rodgers, who swam the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:01.50; Seth Fagen, who took first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.19), and Will Plumb, who led the sweep of the 500-yard free (5:02.36).

Kinnamon took second in the 500-yard free (5:02.45), with teammate Evan Villeneuve taking third (5:06.27) to complete the event sweep. Fagen finished the meet with two more second-place finishes in the 100- yard backstroke (55.53) and the 200-yard IM (2:02.70). While Patrick Unterreiner took second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:18.47.

The Tigers grabbed a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay (1:38.51) with Fagen, Unterreiner, Robbie Sheffield, and Shorney. DePauw finished third in the 200-yard free relay (1:31.07), with Rodgers, Braden Mallery, Spencer Boyd, and Kinnamon.

On Saturday, January 15 at 1 pm EST, DePauw is back at home, hosting Franklin College in the Erdmann Natatorium.
