Chicago-Ill.- The DePauw women's swim team lost to both the #7 University of Chicago and the 24th-ranked Calvin University, 231- 59 and 160-120, respectively, in its final double dual before the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships in February.
Tara Holder, earning DePauw's sole first-place finish, swam the 1000-yard free in 10:58.57. Callan Plant took second place in the 1000-yard free with a time of 11:18.65.
Tarah Lang and Elise Umbach pulled in two top-three finishes in the Tigers' double dual. Lang finished second in the 200-yard free (1:57.34) and grabbed third in the 500-yard free (5:19.77). Umbach earned second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.16, and then third in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:30.39).
Alicia Delgado earned third in the 100-yard breaststroke, just behind Umbach. The Tigers completed the double dual with a total of 13 top-five finishes. Megan Mackenzie took fifth in the 500-yard free (5:24.67), Sammie Waples came in fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:35.92), while Hailey Olsen and Grace Hilton finished fourth (2:12.21) and fifth (2:15.22) respectively in the 200-yard backstroke. Pulling in the Tigers' final individual top-five finish was Maggie Peats after she swam the 200-yard IM in 2:18.04 for fifth.
Grace Hilton, Umbach, Emily Kaiser, and Lang finished fifth in the 200-yard medley.
The Tigers travel to Granville, Ohio, to compete in the NCAC Championships hosted by Denison University from Wednesday, February 9 to Saturday, February 12.
