Bears Beat Tigers at Home

Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw men's swim team lost to the WashU Bears 209-53 at home in Erdmann Natatorium.

The Tigers opened the dual against the Bears with a third-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with Seth Fagen, Patrick Unterreiner, Kellen Bachler, and James Shorney (1:39.45).

Earning DePauw's sole first-place finish was Shorney, who swam the 100-yard free in 47.23. Unterreiner was second on the team in earning points for the afternoons dual against the Bears, finishing second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.75) and third in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:16.32).

Rounding out the individual top-three finishers was Fagen, who took third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.66.

In its final event of the afternoon, the Tigers finished in third after the team of Alex Rodgers, Brock Kinnamon, Robbie Sheffield, and Shorney swam the 200-yard free relay in 1:28.33.

DePauw's next meet is in Chicago, where the Tigers face the University of Chicago Maroons on Saturday, January 29.
