Tigers Fall to the Little Giants, 96-70

Box Score

Crawfordsville, Ind.: In its 221st matchup against Wabash, the DePauw men's basketball team fell to the Little Giants 96-70.

After collecting the tip-off, Wabash opened this rivalry matchup with a three-pointer by Ahmoni Jones. Though the Tigers found themselves down early, they gathered themselves, and Grant Gohmann put up a three of his own just two possessions later.

Across the first six minutes of play, DePauw and Wabash traded baskets and turnovers, allowing the Tigers to stay within striking distance despite the depth of the Little Giant's bench.

To close out the first half, Nolan Niego and Grant Niego put up a three-pointer and last-second layup, respectively, to put DePauw within seven.

In the first three minutes of the second half, the Tigers kept within ten of the Little Giants; however, with over 17 minutes left in the game, Wabash got hot behind the three-point line, finishing the night shooting 50% from behind the arc. Leading the Little Giants in scoring was Jack Davidson, who reached the 2,000 career point mark off one of his five threes.

The Tigers couldn't slow down Wabash's offense and were shut down on the other half, putting up just ten field goals for the half.

DePauw moves to 5-8 overall, and 2-5 in North Coast Athletic Conference play. The Tigers face the College of Wooster in Neal Fieldhouse on Saturday, January 22 at 3 pm EST, following the women's basketball game.
