Box Score 2 Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw pushed its record to 3-0 after rallying to defeat Anderson 3-2 (20-25, 19-25, 25-16, 25-17, 15-7) and beating Defiance 3-1 (15-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-23).
The Tigers dropped the opening two sets in the Anderson match before coming all the way back for the win. Ashley Haas and Elise Monroe each had 10 kills, while Grace Filbrun assisted on 21 of DePauw's 51 kills. Jenna Purichia had three of the Tigers' nine service aces with Lexi Carr totaling 20 digs and Lauren Ridgway eight blocks (1 solo, 7 assists).
Tess Perdue paced Anderson with nine kills with Kaycie Gates totaling 20 assists and five of the Ravens' 11 aces. Brooke Troyer led the team with 16 digs. DePauw outhit Anderson, .205-.090 and hit .429 in the fifth set.
In the victory over Defiance, Sarah Herman totaled 10 kills with Fibrun assisting on 23 of DePauw's 44 kills. Has had four of DePauw's 10 aces with Purichia finishing with 22 digs and Ridgway six blocks (6 assists).
Kaylynn Wellman led Defiance with eight kills and two blocks with Brianna Wheeler assisting on 13 of the Yellow Jackets' 28 kills. Wheeler also had a team-high three aces with Tre'Ana King finishing with 26 digs. DePauw outhit Defiance .177-.071.
DePauw returns to action on September 10-11 at the NCAC/MIAA Crossover in Sandusky, Ohio.
