Box Score Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw totaled 610 yards of offense including 434 through the air and the defense recorded a shutout and picked off four Kenyon passes on the way to a 44-0 North Coast Athletic Conference win over the Lords. The Tigers moved to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the NCAC with the win in the Nick Mourouzis Memorial game, while Kenyon dropped to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
DePauw needed just five plays to get on the scoreboard as Chase Andries tossed a 27-yard touchdown pass on third down to Jaylon Smith just 1:56 into the game. Midway through the first, the Tigers started on their own 8-yard line, but again needed just five plays to score as Andries and Smith teamed again for a 79-yard score and again on third down to make it 14-0 with 6:28 left in the first.
Later in the quarter, Kenyon drove to the DePauw 8, but Dylan Hyatt picked off Ryan O'Leary at the DePauw 2 and returned it 51 yards to the Kenyon 47.
Nine plays later, Joe Sullivan booted a 21-yard field goal to push the DePauw lead to 17-0 with 11:30 left in the half. The teams exchanged punts before Hyatt intercepted O'Leary at the DePauw 16. Andries converted a third-and-11 with a 12-yard pass to Trey Shaw before teaming with Smith for a 41-yard gain to the Kenyon 32. On the next play, Andries found Shaw for a score to make it 24-0 with 5:22 remaining in the half.
The Tigers put one more score on the board in the opening half as Andries and Shaw again connected for a 1-yard score with just seven seconds left in the half to extend DePauw's lead to 31-0.
DePauw made it 38-0 on the opening drive of the second half with Andries tossing a pass to Gabe Quigley who took it 13 yards for the score. The Tigers wrapped up the scoring on Nathan McCahill's 4-yard run with 5:49 left.
Andries completed 20 of 30 passes for 367 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions with Shaw catching seven for 90 yards, Major totaling four catches for 71 yards and Smith finishing with 147 yards on three grabs. Drew Moore rushed for 66 yards on 10 carries.
AJ Allen completed 11 of 30 passes for 102 yards and O'Leary completed 7 of 15 for 81 yards, but each threw two interceptions. Fin Murray and Andrew Schnarre each hauled in four catches for 80 and 37 yards, respectively. O'Leary rushed for a team-best 29 yards on four attempts.
Luke Marsh had a team-high five tackles with Connor Surber and Danny Glimco sharing a sack. Mychael Leno paced Kenyon with 11 stops.
DePauw travels to Wooster for a 2 p.m. contest on Sept. 25.
