Box Score Greencastle, Ind.: The DePauw men's soccer team recorded its second 1-3 loss of the season to Centre College at home.
Despite the physicality of the first half of play between the Colonels and the Tigers, neither team managed to break past the opposing backline and get great looks on goal.
With the game tied at zero in the second half, Centre struck first off a corner kick in the 51st minute of play. Just five minutes later, however, DePauw capitalized on a corner kick taken by Flynn Sheehan. Sheehan's cross was deflected by Thomas Phillips, which landed squarely in front of Clay Troyer, who chipped the tying goal into the back of the net.
Unfortunately for the Tigers, in the 80th minute of regulation, the Colonels scored back-to-back goals to solidify its victory over DePauw.
The Tigers move to 5-2 overall and are back at Reavis Stadium to play Grinnell College on Saturday, September 18th at 2:30 pm EDT.
