Tigers Split Saturday Matches in Battle at the Point

Sandusky, Ohio - DePauw moved to 4-2 on the season after splitting Saturday's matches in the NCAC/MIAA Crossover "Battle at the Point". The Tigers opened the day with a 3-1 (25-21, 13-25, 25-6, 25-22) win over Alma before falling to Adrian 3-1 (21-25, 22-25, 25-20, 15-25). 

Against Alma, Katie Gansle totaled 16 of DePauw's 41 kills, while Grace Filbrun led with 18 assists and Avery Christy followed with 16. DePauw totaled 14 service aces as Jenna Purichia had seven and Christy six. Purichia's 22 digs led the defensive effort with Lauren Ridgway finishing with three block assists. 

Gansle led the Tigers with 13 kills in the loss to Adrian, with Filbrun assisting on 11 of the Tigers' 44 kills. Gansle also led with two of the Tigers' four aces with Purichia leading with 21 digs and Gansle following with 19. Ridgway had a team-high four blocks (1 solo, 3 assists).

DePauw returns to action on Tuesday, September 14, when it hosts Rose-Hulman in a 7 p.m. match.
