Box Score Anderson, Ind.- The DePauw University men's soccer team shut out the Anderson University Ravens 6-0 in its first game of the 2021 season.
The Tigers scored early and often across the 90-minute matchup. Putting in the first goal was Sam Thiel, who found the back of the net after controlling a pass from Ben Weidner.
Just 13 minutes later, Jacob Fowler connected with Joel Thompkins to put the Tigers up 2-0 before the half.
In the second half, the Tigers outshot the Ravens 11-5 and tallied four unassisted goals by Weidner; off a penalty kick, Thompkins scored his second of the evening, followed by back-to-back goals by Chase Brieger within just 27 seconds of each other.
DePauw finished the night with four different scorers, 17 total shots, and three corners; while holding Anderson to just seven shots on goal across regulation.
The Tigers continue to play on the road this Friday, September 3, against Mt. St. Joseph in the Wilmington College Kiwanis Classic at Mt. St. Joseph. Game time is set for 7 pm EDT.
