DePauw's Season Ends with Loss to Marlins and Tied for Third at Division III Championship

Box Score

Salem, Va. - Top-seed DePauw's record-setting season came to a conclusion today in the NCAA Championship semifinals with a 3-0 loss to second-seed Virginia Wesleyan. DePauw equaled a school record with 40 wins against just five losses and finished in a tie for third in the nation, while the Marlins improved to 44-5-1 and face Texas Lutheran in the best-of-three Championship series.

The Marlins jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first as Jessica Goldyn led off with a double before Madison Glaubke walked. After Julia Sinnett advanced both runners with a sacrifice bunt, Katelyn Biando plated both with a single to right center.

Emily Seale improved to 22-2 and Hanna Hull picked up her third save with two innings of hitless relief, while Cami Henry dropped to 24-2 after striking out eight.
