Box Score 2 Greencastle, Ind. - Fifth-ranked DePauw extended its win streak to 13 with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Ohio Wesleyan by scores of 1-0 and 7-2. The Tigers improved to 29-2 overall and finished North Coast Athletic Conference West Division play at 12-0. The Battling Bishops dropped to 6-12 overall and 2-10 in the division.
In the opener, the teams battled through five scoreless innings before the Tigers broke through in the sixth. Emma Konrad singled with one out and pinch-runner Abby Pyburn stole second. Paige Price then delivered an RBI single to center for the game's lone run.
Five different Tigers collected one hit each, while Madison Bridger had two of Ohio Wesleyan's four hits.
Annika Garwood improved to 4-2 with the four-hit shutout in which she struck out four and didn't allow a walk. Katie Chittum dropped to 4-6.
In the nightcap, Ohio Wesleyan scored both of its runs in the opening inning as Erica Buchanan reached on an error with one out and scored on Aimee Duckworth's double. Makenna Waddell followed with a double to make it 2-0.
DePauw countered with one in the bottom of the first and Chase Epp walked and pinch-runner Kate Geary stole second. Becca St. Germain doubled home Geary.
The Tigers evened the count in the second as Grace Smith doubled and moved to third on Price's single. After Lily Jennings reached on a bunt single to load the bases, Kaylyn Linder lifted a sacrifice fly to left which brought home Smith. DePauw took the lead in the third when Drew Bratcher hit a two-out, solo homer to right center.
DePauw broke the game open with four in the fourth including RBI doubles from Kelsey Bernhard and Epp.
Jennings had two of DePauw's eight hits, while six different Ohio Wesleyan players had one each.
Riley Magoon improved to 5-0, while Cami Henry collected her third save. Buchanan dropped to 2-5.
DePauw hosts Illinois Wesleyan tomorrow in a 4 p.m. doubleheader.
