Delaware, Ohio - Fifth-ranked DePauw pounded out 28 hits in its North Coast Athletic Conference West Division doubleheader at Ohio Wesleyan and swept the Battling Bishops by scores of 13-5 and 4-3. The Tigers improved to 27-2 overall and 10-0 in NCAC play, while Ohio Wesleyan dropped to 6-10 overall and 2-8 in the division.

In the opener, DePauw got out to a 3-0 lead in the first, but the Battling Bishops scored three in the second and two in the third to take a 5-4 lead. The Tigers plated three runs each in the fourth and fifth innings, two in the sixth and one in the seventh while keeping the hosts off the board for the win.

Kelsey Bernhard, Grace Smith and Abby Pyburn each had three of DePauw's 17 hits, while Becca St. Germain, Paige Price and Kate Geary each had two. Sydney Hoover collected two of Ohio Wesleyan's nine hits.

Cami Henry improved to 15-0 after tossing three scoreless innings of relief in which she struck out eight and allowed just one hit. Katie Chittum dropped to 4-5.

In the second game, Geary's double in the seventh brought home pinch-runner Olivia Jackson with the game-winning run. DePauw came back from a 3-0 deficit with one in the fourth and two in the sixth before Geary's hit.

Geary, St. Germain and Smith each finished with two of DePauw's 11 hits, while Madison Bridger totaled four of the Battling Bishops' nine.

Henry improved to 16-0 with 3 2/3 scoreless innings of relief with four strikeouts and two hits with no walks. Makenna Waddell dropped to 0-1.

The teams square off with a 2 p.m. doubleheader tomorrow in Greencastle.
