Cami Henry Records Program's First Perfect Game in Tigers Doubleheader Sweep Over the Big Red

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Granville, Ohio- DePauw pitcher Cami Henry tossed the first perfect game in program history as the Tigers blanked Denison, 9-0, in game two of their North Coast Athletic Conference West Division doubleheader at Denison. That followed a 7-1 victory in the opener as seventh-ranked DePauw improved to 23-2 overall and 6-0 in NCAC divisional play. Denison dropped to 6-15 overall and 3-3 in NCAC play.

Henry struck out 12 of the 15 batters she faced in tossing the second no-hitter of her DePauw career and the first by a DePauw pitcher since Riley Magoon and Devin Pieper combined for one against Hiram on April 13, 2019. She struck out the side in three of the five innings and didn't allow a ball out of the infield.

The offense scored one in the first, six in the second, and two in the third as Kelsey Bernhard led the way with two of the Tigers' nine hits.

Henry improved to 13-0 with the win, while Noelle Chovanec dropped to 1-4.

In game one, Paige Price doubled home Grace Smith in the second, and Becca St. Germain drove in Abby Pyburn with a third-inning single to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead. DePauw added four in the fourth before Denison plated its lone run of the day in the fourth. The Tigers rounded out the scoring in the sixth with a single run.

Pyburn, Bernhard, and St. Germain each had two of DePauw's 11 hits, while Taylor Faulkenberg had two of Denison's three.

Annika Garwood improved to 3-2 for the season, while Lexi Knipp fell to 1-3. Magoon collected her second save.

I chose DePauw because I was able to continue my athletic career at a very competitive D3 school. The atmosphere and education at DePauw is also incredible and I wanted to be a part of it.

I chose DePauw for the ample opportunity to grow equally in the classroom and on the softball field. At DePauw, you are a student before an athlete and I think that speaks volumes to the quality and value of the education given at this institution.
