Box Score 2 Springfield, Ohio - Ninth-ranked DePauw improved to 21-2 overall and 4-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference West Division play following a doubleheader sweep at Wittenberg by scores of 3-2 and 6-1. Wittenberg dropped to 12-8-1 overall and 1-5 in the division.
DePauw took a 2-0 lead in the first when Becca St. Germain drove in a pair after reaching on a fielder's choice.
Wittenberg cut the lead in half in the bottom of the first as Alex Gibson reached on a fielder's choice that allowed Elise Freeland to score. The hosts evened the count in the fifth when Clara Anderson singled home Brooke Dill.
Emily Timberman provided the game-winning run for the Tigers with a solo homer in the seventh.
Four different Tigers collected one hit each, while Anderson and Elaina Adams each had two of Wittenberg's seven hits.
Cami Henry improved to 12-0 with 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief o fstarter Annika Garwood. Katelyn Niswonger dropped to 6-4 with the loss.
Wittenberg took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third of the second game, but DePauw countered with two in the fourth when Grace Smith's bunt plated Kaylyn Linder and Goose Moore stole third and came home on an error.
Timberman's solo homer in the sixth made it 3-1 before Chase Epp followed with a two-run double and Jade Mejia Wick singled home Yasmin McClellan.
Abby Pyburn had two of DePauw's 11 hits, while Freeland, Briana Busic and Adams each had two of Wittenberg's nine hits.
Riley Magoon improved to 3-0, while Mary Britton dropped to 2-2. Cami Henry collected her second save of the year.
DePauw returns to NCAC West play on Thursday, April 22, with a 3:30 p.m. doubleheader at Denison.
