Box Score Gambier, Ohio- The DePauw University volleyball team tally its first win of the spring 2021 season on the road against Kenyon College, beating the Ladies in four sets (25-12, 26-24, 22-25, 25-13).
The Tigers jumped to an early lead in set one, growing its lead to as much as 14, ultimately winning the set 25-11. The Tigers finished the set with an attacking percentage of .333, ten kills, and forced the Ladies to commit 11 errors.
In set two, Kenyon and DePauw went back and forth, with neither team able to pull away. There were 12 ties and nine lead changes; thanks to a string of kills between Elise Monroe and Lizzie Kolde, the Tigers won the second set, 26-24.
Kenyon took the third set, 25-22, after forcing DePauw to commit three errors late in the set, extending the match to a fourth.
Completing the final set with an attacking percentage of .300 and just three errors, the Tigers finished the match strong, winning 25-13 in the fourth set.
Monroe would lead DePauw with 15 kills, followed closely with 12 kills of her own was Jessica Levy. Three Tigers tallied over two block assists on the defensive end, with Lauren Ridgway finishing the match with five.
The Tigers' next match is set for Friday, April 16, at 7 pm in Neal Fieldhouse.
