Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw University women's swimming and diving team finished with multiple first-place finishes in its triangular against Butler University and Hillsdale College.
After its first day swimming against Hillsdale, the Tigers trail the Chargers by just 11 points, with a full day of events remaining for day two of competition.
DePauw grabbed first in both the 400-yard medley relay ( 3:57.91) and the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:38.16) with the team made up of Molly Ruggles, Sammie Waples, Ali Tallen, and Ashley Dapore.
Ruggles would also go on to finish first in the 100-yard backstroke and record a pool record with a time of 58.49. Coming in second in the 100-yard backstroke was Tallen, who finished with a time of 59.48.
Also taking first for the Tigers was Waples, who swam the 50-yard freestyle in 24.39 seconds.
Taking third in the 400-yard IM, finishing in 4:58.50, was Alyssa Koch would earn crucial points for DePauw.
Katherine Douglas continues to break records, finishing today's triangular with a final score of 442.20 on 11 dives, a pool record, and 277.50 on six dives, both a school and pool record.
The Tigers head into day two of competitions with 298 points and face Hillsdale College on Sunday, March 7, at 11 am EST.
