Box Score 2 Ellsville, Mo. - DePauw, ranked ninth in Division III, stayed unbeaten at 6-0 with a 4-2 win over Fontbonne and a 3-2 victory over Illinois College.
In the first game, Fontbonne took a 1-0 lead in the first before Chase Epp led off the third with a triple and scored on Emily Viebrock's single which tied the game at 1-1. Epp singled with one out in the fifth and pinch-runner Goose Moore scored on an error after Abby Pyburn singled. Later in the inning, Jade Mejia Wick and Katerina Kilgore each delivered RBI singles. Epp and Pyburn each had two of DePauw's 12 hits. Riley Magoon improved to 2-0 with the complete game win.
Illinois College grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first in the day's second game before DePauw cut the lead in half on Annika Garwood's single. The score remained 2-1 until the seventh when Kelsey Bernhard led off with a single and Moore followed with a bunt single. Epp reached on an error that loaded the bases. Caleigh Cramer then reached on a fielder's choice that allowed Bernhard and Moore to score.
DePauw's Cami Henry, who entered in the circle in the fifth and struck out the side in the seventh to preserve the DePauw win.
Kaylyn Linder and Emily Timberman each had two of DePauw's eight hits. Henry improved to 3-0 with the win.
The Tigers face Buena Vista tomorrow at 11 a.m. CST and Nebraska Wesleyan at 1 p.m. CST.
