DePauw Ties For Second at Home Opener

Greencastle, Ind. - Paced by a pair of wins from Rachel DeLancey and runner-up finishes in 10 other events, DePauw totaled 160 points and tied for second with Rose-Hulman behind Illinois Wesleyan's 195.

DeLancey won the 800 meters in 2:28.76 and the 1,500 meters in 4:57.60. Four Tigers scored in each of those events as Annalise Grammel was second in the 800 (2:31.26) followed by Kate Hennessey in third (2:33.01) and Lannea Allen in sixth (2:35.92). Hennessey was runner-up in the 1,500 (5:09.46) with Allen finishing fourth (5:13.36) and Rachel Cook sixth (5:18.72).

Erin Pasch was second in three individual events including the 100-meter hurdles (16.74), high jump (1.53m/5-00.25) and the javelin (31.3m/102-8).

Additional second-place finishes were turned in by Charlotte Borland in the 200 meters (27.00), Jenny Noll in the 5,000 meters (19:53.66) and Emma Stemen in the pole vault (3.10m/10-2). Stemen was eighth in the javelin (20.43/67-0).

Borland also scored in the 100 (13.28/4th) and the long jump (4.73m/15-6.25/8th), while Jaida Smith scored in both the long jump (5.01m/16-5.25/4th) and the 100 (13.96/7th).

Also scoring in multiple events were Alexis Cagan in the 200 (28.07/4th) and the 100 (13.77/5th) and Mady Altman in the javelin (23.86/78-3/5th) and the shot put (9.91m/32-6.25).

Other scorers for the Tigers were Seelye Stoffregen in the 400 hurdles (1:09.92/3rd), Meredith Sierpina in the 5,000 (20:50.98/4th) and Reanna Stiehler in the javelin (21.60m/70-10/6th).

Both DePauw relays finished second as the 4 x100 (Smith, Borland, Cagan, Stoffregen) crossed in 51.65 seconds and the 4x400 (Pasch, Cagan, Stoffregen, Borland) finished in 4:09.59.

DePauw travels to Memphis on Saturday, April 3, for a meet at Rhodes College.
