Greencastle, Ind. - Led by three firsts including a pair of wins by Michael Ocasek, DePauw totaled 124.5 points and finished third among five schools at the DePauw Quad #1. Wabash won with 234.5, while Rose-Hulman was second with 160.5.
Ocasek won the 800-meter run in 1:58.28 and finished first in the 1,500-meter run in 3:57.94. Bailey Scott was the Tigers' other winner with a first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:38.94.
In addition to Ocasek's win in the 1,500, the Tigers took the next three spots as Jacob Bailey was second (4:11.81) followed by Callaway Bird (4:15.12) and Henry Streib (4:15.48). Bailey was also third in the 800 meters (2:02.29).
Ford Baker was runner-up to Scott in the steeple in 9:43.74 with Thomas Brelage placing sixth in 10:20.90. DePauw runners placed third through sixth in the 5,000 meters led by Zane Williams (16:20.28) and Aaron Worley (16:29.10). Trevor Hoftiezer followed in 16:39.59 and Kellen Cessarone was next at 16:59.44.
Rickey Alsum placed third in the 100 meters in 11.88 as did Garrett Elkins in the high jump (1.83m/6-0). Luke Smith turned in a fourth-place performance in the long jump (6.17m/20-3) and Evan Manges was fifth in the high jump (1.78m/5-10), seventh in the 110-meter hurdles (17.48) and 10th in the 400 hurdles (1:05.87).
Both DePauw relays were second as Ayo Laleye, Mangas, Briggs Cecil and Alsum finished the 4x100 in 43.69 seconds and the 4x400 of Cecil, Bird, Scott and Ocasek crossed in 3:32.91.
DePauw travels to Memphis next Saturday to compete in a meet at Rhodes College.
