Greencastle, Ind.: Ford Baker (New Trier /Winnetka, Ill.) and Michael Ocasek (Glenbrook North/ Northbrook, Ill.) of the DePauw Men's Indoor Track & Field team received All-Region honors for the 2021 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field season, which were announced on Friday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
A total of 1,152 honors were awarded on 92 different institutions, with 579 honors on the men's side and another 573 for women's teams.
To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top-5 individuals in their respective region on the final TFRRS Descending Order List. In addition, each member of a region's top-3 relay team was also selected for distinction.
Only athletes from USTFCCCA member institutions are eligible for the award.
Baker was recognized as a Great Lakes All-Region athlete for his performances in the 3,000-meter run. He most recently finished fifth in the 3,000-meter run at the Division III Elite Indoor Championships with a time of 8:37.85.
Ocasek was honored as a Great Lakes All-Region athlete for his performance in the 800-meter run. This season he ran the 800-meter run in 1:55.54, earning first-place in a triangular against Centre and St. Mary of the Woods.
Tigers host their first Outdoor Track and Field meet of the season on Saturday, March 27, at Blackstock Stadium.
