Box Score 2 Greencastle, Ind. - Seventh-ranked DePauw moved to 14-1 following a doubleheader sweep at 10th-ranked Transylvania by scores of 8-0 and 4-2. The Pioneers dropped to 10-6.
In the opener, DePauw pitcher Cami Henry allowed just one hit, a leadoff single in the first, and faced the minimum number of batters on the way to improving to 8-0. Henry struck out five and didn't walk a batter, while allowing just two base runners with neither advancing beyond first.
DePauw scored one in the second as Jade Mejia Wick drove in Paige Price with a single and extended the lead to 2-0 in the fifth as Kelsey Bernhard singled home Kaylyn Linder. The Tigers put the game away in the seventh with six runs capped by Emily Timberman's two-run homer.
Grace Smith and Mejia Wick each had two of DePauw's eight hits, while Abby Frazier had Transylvania's only hit.
Kameron Bowling dropped to 7-4 for Transylvania.
In the nightcap, DePauw took a 1-0 lead in the fourth on Timberman's solo homer. Transylvania matched that in the bottom of the frame after Alyssa Nunn drew a bases loaded walk that scored Stella Wulker. The hosts took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth as Frazier walked and scored on Wulker's double.
That lead was short-lived as DePauw scored three in the sixth. Timberman singled with two outs and moved to third on Grace Smith's base hit. Price then singled to center and came all the way around to score after an outfield error on the play.
Timberman, Smith and Mejia Wick each had two of DePauw's 10 hits, while Wulker, Allyson O'Dell and Nunn each had two of the Pioneers' six hits.
Henry moved to 9-0 with the complete game win, while Carlee Jeter dropped to 1-1.
DePauw opens the home portion of its schedule on Saturday, March 27, with a 1 p.m. doubleheader against Mount St. Joseph.
