Box Score 2 Lexington, Ky. - Seventh-ranked DePauw split its two Sunday games following a 7-2 win over #22 Trine and a 5-4 loss to Wittenberg to move to 12-1.
In the morning game against Trine, the Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the first on Skylar Barnett's single that scored Chase Epp before Trine evened the count in the third. Becca St. Germain's single in the fourth scored Lily Jennings and DePauw opened the game up with five in the seventh. Trine's final run came in the seventh.
Each team collected five hits in the contest with Cami Henry improving to 7-0 with four innings in relief of Annika Garwood. Lauren Clausen dropped to 0-1 with the loss.
In the Wittenberg game, DePauw took a 3-0 lead as Brooke Bruin reached on a fielder's choice in the third, scoring Kate Geary. Barnett drove in a run in the fourth with a fly out and Emily Minett singled home Kaylyn Linder.
Wittenberg scored three in the sixth to even the score and took the lead with two in the seventh.
DePauw loaded the bases with one out in the seventh and Garwood's sacrifice fly scored Grace Smith, but the Tigers' rally ended with runners on second and third.
Alyssa Anderson had three of DePauw's seven hits, while Nikki Hawkins and Briana Busic each had two of Wittenberg's eight hits.
Kira van Ravensberg improved to 2-1, while Garwood dropped to 1-1.
DePauw faces Transylvania in a 3:30 p.m. doubleheader in Lexington tomorrow.
