DePauw Finishes Third in the Rose-Hulman Early Bird Meet

Terre Haute, Ind. - The DePauw University men's outdoor track and field team opened its outdoor season with a third-place finish in the Rose-Hulman Early Bird Meet with 100 points.

The Tigers finished the meet with four first-place finishes, a second-place finish, and two third-place finishes, leading to tying with Greenville for third.

In the 800-meter run, Callaway Bird took first with a time of 1:59.24. Also finishing first in today's meet was Ford Baker, who finished the 1500-meter run in 4:02.71. Jacob Bailey and Bailey Scott earned first-place in the 5000-meter run (15:34.45) and the 3000-meter steeplechase (9:37.59), respectively.

Zane Williams would earn third in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:55.70, while Michael Ocasek took third in the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing with a time of 10:15.55.

Rounding out the Tigers scoring was the men's 4 x 100-meter relay made up of Ayo Laleye, Evan Manges, Briggs Cecil, and Rickey Alsum, who took second with a time of 43.83.

The Tigers' next meet will be the DePauw Quad #1 on Saturday, March 27, at Blackstock Stadium.
