Box Score Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw University women's soccer team finished a double-overtime matchup against Centre College in a 1-1 draw to open its season.
The Colonels struck first, going up 1-0 at the 12-minute mark, forcing the Tigers to play catch up with over 30 minutes left in the half.
DePauw found the back of the net in the 37th minute, off a cross by Grace Truax, who found Maya Caltry for the tying goal, Caltry's first career goal as a Tiger.
Tied at the half with one apiece, DePauw managed to push the ball into its opponents' half for a good portion of the start of the second half.
Centre and DePauw would trade fouls and shot attempts throughout the second half, and thanks to some timely plays by goalie Reanna Stiehler and the backline, the Tigers extended the game into extra time.
In over 110 minutes of play, the DePauw stopped 21 shots and successfully cleared six corner kicks to finish the game in a draw.
The Tigers are back at Reavis Stadium on Tuesday, March 16, to face Marian (Ind.).
