Box Score 2 Decatur, Ill. - Seventh-ranked DePauw pushed its record to 10-0 after sweeping a doubleheader at Millikin by scores of 5-4 in 10 innings and 11-2 in five innings. Millikin dropped to 3-3.
In the opener, the Tigers took a 2-0 lead in the first on an RBI double by Becca St. Germain and Paige Price's bases-loaded walk. The Big Blue matched that with single runs in the third and fourth innings and then took the lead in the sixth on Kaylee Goluch's run-scoring single.
DePauw forced extra innings in the seventh as Kaylyn Linder led off by reaching on an error and moved to second on Abby Pyburn's sacrifice bunt. Drew Bratcher then delivered a game-tying single to right.
The game remained knotted at 3-3 until the 10th in which the international tiebreaker rule came into play. Goose Moore was placed on second to start the frame and scored on St. Germain's one-out double to left. Emily Timberman followed with a single before Kelsey Bernhard singled home St. Germain.
Aubrey Hunt's double in the bottom of the 10th scored Leah Foreman, but DePauw pitcher Cami Henry shut the door including recording the final out with a strikeout.
St. Germain led the Tigers with three of their nine hits, while Timberman and Bernhard each added two. Goluch and Hunt each had two of Millikin's seven hits.
Henry improved to 5-0 after striking out 13 in the win. Aly Armstrong dropped to 2-1 with the loss for Millikin.
In the nightcap, the Tigers scored eight in the first and three in the second in a game shortened due to the run-rule. Price had three of DePauw's 12 hits with Bratcher and Grace Smith collecting two apiece. Abby Pyburn hit an inside-the-park homer in the first and Price added a solo shot in the second. Goluch and Foreman had all of Millikin's hits as each had two.
Kersten Brayton improved to 2-0, while Addison Sargent dropped to 2-2.
DePauw travels to Transylvanis on Friday, March 19, for a 3:30 p.m. doubleheader.
