DePauw Falls to Rose-Hulman in Season-Opening Meet

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw opened the 2020-21 season at the Erdmann Natatorium and fell to visiting Rose-Hulman by a 158.5-101.5 score.

The Tigers took firsts in five events paced by Ben Hilfinger who won the 200-yard butterfly (1:58.41), 100 fly (53.05) and the 200 individual medley (2:02.09). Tommy Hackley won the 200 freestyle (1:46.59) with Seth Fagen finishing in a tie for first in the 200 backstroke (1:59.16). 

Fagen was second in the 100 back (55.06) as was Braden Mallery in the 1000 free (10:42.84), Jake Frech in the 50 free (22.61), Ian Longan in the 100 fly (53.25) as well as Patrick Unterreiner in the 200 breast (2:16.90) and 200 IM (2:04.10).

The Tigers' 200 medley relay of Fagen, Unterreiner, Longan and Hilfinger was second in 1:38.53 as was the 400 free relay of Fagen, Hackley, Longan and Frech in 3:15.39.

DePauw takes on Franklin College on Saturday, February 13, at 2 p.m. at Franklin High School.
