Springfield, Ohio- The DePauw women's track and field team fell to Wittenberg 70-56 after a strong performance across the field and running events.
DePauw opened the meet earning top-three finishes in five of the six field events. Reanna Stiehler finished third for both the weight throw (12.33 m) and the shot put (9.39). Charlotte Borland earned the top spot in the triple jump with a jump of 9.47 m, while teammate Erin Pasch would take first in the high jump with a final height of 1.60m. Emma Stemen would also take first in the pole vault with a final vault of 2.90m.
Pasch would earn two more first-place finishes in the 60-meter hurdles (9.70) and the 400-meter dash (1:01.73). Borland would pull in two more second-place finishes in the 60-meter dash (8.46) and 200-meter dash (27.97), with teammate Alexis Cagan earning third in the 60-meter dash (8.58).
The Tigers found success in the distance events as well, tallying six top-three finishes. DePauw swept the 3000-meter run, with Rachel Cook (11:40.37) coming in first, followed by Reagan Hoggatt (11:52.48) and Maddie Perry (11:59.37), respectively. And in the 800-meter run, Annalise Grammel finished second with a time of 2:28.30. Rachel DeLancey (5:23.89) and Meredith Sierpina (5:34.98) finished second and third, respectively, in the mile run.
The Tigers are back at home on Friday, February 19 at 6 pm for a triangular against Centre College and St. Mary of the Woods.
