Box Score Wooster, Ohio: The DePauw Tigers struggled to find its rhythm in its 73-59 road loss to The College of Wooster Fighting Scots.
The Fighting Scots took a commanding 10-2 lead over the Tigers from the jump. DePauw managed to get within four points of Wooster following a three-pointer by James Havrilla at the 14-minute mark; however, by the half, the Fighting Scots were able to extend its lead to 15.
Down 37-22 to the Fighting Scots at halftime, DePauw was outrebounded 26-11 by Wooster and held to just 28% from the field, while Wooster's Elijah Meredith and Najee Hardaway had 12 points each.
In the second half, the Fighting Scots quickly put up 11 points to bring its lead over the Tigers to 26 with 15 minutes remaining in regulation.
Despite the deficit, DePauw chipped away at the Fighting Scots lead, getting to within eight with three minutes left in the half. Unfortunately, in the final two minutes, Wooster would go on a 9-2 run, shutting down any chance for the Tigers to come back.
Leading the Tigers in both points and rebounds was sophomore forward Grant Gohmann, who finished the evening with 13 points and eight rebounds, while teammate Grant Niego put up 11 points and recorded two steals.
DePauw moves to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play. The Tigers' next game is Wednesday, December 8, against Wittenberg. Tip-off is set for 7 pm EST.
