Box Score Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw battled back from a first-set deficit to blank Kenyon, 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-17), in a North Coast Athletic Conference match in Neal Fieldhouse. The Tigers moved to 9-7 overall and 2-3 in the NCAC, while the Ladies dropped to 2-12 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
The Tigers trailed 17-13 in the opening set, but rallied with five straight points including a trio of service aces from Avery Christy and never trailed the rest of the set in winning, 25-20. DePauw got out to a 5-1 lead in the second set with a pair of Emma White aces in the run. Kenyon closed to 20-19, but the Tigers scored three straight and took the 25-20 win. In the closing set the teams were tied at 7-7 before DePauw scored four consecutive points and gradually pulled away for a 25-17 win and the match victory.
Each team had 31 kills with DePauw outhitting the Ladies, .225-.102. Jessica Levy led the Tigers with nine kills and Macy Reimbold had 10 for Kenyon. Grace Filbrun paced DePauw with 12 assists and Christy added 11 with Maya Sapsford leading Kenyon with 12 and Jac Cousineau chipping in 11.
Fibrun had four of DePauw 13 aces with White and Christy each added three. Three Kenyon players collected one ace each. Jenna Purichia led DePauw with 18 digs with Ellie Luciani totaling 11 for the Ladies. DePauw finished with a 9.0-2.0 edge in blocks with Ashley Haas leading with four.
DePauw hosts Millikin tomorrow at 2 p.m. on Senior Day for the Tigers.
