DePauw Drops Pair in Final Tuneup Before NCAC Tournament

St. Louis, Mo. - After falling to Millikin 3-2 (20-25, 25-22, 16-25, 25-14, 15-13), DePauw dropped a 3-0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-23) match to host WashU. The Tigers slipped to 10-12 on the season.

In the Millikin match, DePauw outhit the Big Blue .204-.156, but Millikin held a 58-42 edge in kills.Katie Gansle led DePauw with 10 kills, while Ashley Haas added nine and hit .533. Avery Christy had 17 of the Tigers'39 assists and Grace Filbrun added 15. Gansle finished with three of the Tigers' nine service aces, but the Big Blue totaled 16 aces. Jenna Purichia paced DePauw with 23 digs, while Lauren Ridgway had five blocks.

Haas led DePauw with six kills against WashU with Christy serving up four aces. Purichia had 18 digs in the loss.

DePauw opens NCAC Tournament play on Friday, November 5, when it faces Allegheny at 4 p.m. at Denison.
