Box Score Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw men's soccer team came up short in its 0-1 loss to No. 17 Kenyon College in its final game of the season.
With its season on the line, the DePauw Tigers played with tenacity throughout the entire 90 minutes of regulation.
The Tigers skillfully held off the Lords despite being outshot and allowed just two corners across the first half.
In the second half, DePauw suffocated Kenyon's offensive attacks, forcing quick and unnecessary passes giving the Tigers moments to advance the ball into its attacking half.
Though the efforts of DePauw reaped a couple of good looks on goal, in the 81st-minute of play, the Lords' Sebastian Gaese poked a settled corner kick past the Tigers defenders to go up 0-1.
DePauw would fight in the final nine minutes of regulation, pushing the match's pace and creating promising runs down each sideline. Unfortunately, time expired before the Tigers could knot it up and force overtime.
DePauw completes its season with an overall record of 10-8 and a North Coast Athletic Conference record of 4-5.
