Springfield, Ohio- The DePauw women's soccer team fell short in its 1-2 loss to the Wittenberg University Tigers.

Throughout regulation, the battle of the Tigers was neck and neck, trading shots on both attacking ends.

Unfortunately for DePauw, Wittenberg took an early lead in the seventh minute of play, forcing the DePauw Tigers to play catchup.

Despite being down for most of the game, DePauw stayed aggressive and put up six more shots before the end of the first half.

In the 74th minute, Wittenberg scored again to go up 2-0; however, less than a minute later, Anissa Nourse cut the Wittenberg Tigers' lead in half, giving DePauw hope with just under 15 minutes left in regulation.

Though DePauw outshot Wittenberg 9-8 in the second half, the Wittenberg Tigers came out on top.

DePauw (1-2-1) returns home to host Denison University on Saturday, October 16, at 5 pm EDT.
