Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw women's track and field team finished first with 78 points in its first triangular of the 2021 season against Earlham College and Franklin College.
With multiple top-three finishes in the Triangular hosted by DePauw, the Tigers found its stride in all aspects of the meet.
In the women's 60-meter hurdles, DePauw took first and second place, with Erin Pasch finishing with a time of 9.97, and Seelye Stoffregen coming in at 11.03.
Alexis Cagan and Grace Truax earned first and second place respectively in the 60 Meter Dash with Cagan finishing with a time of 8.60 and Truax close behind with a time of 8.69.
In both the 200 and 300-meter dash the Tigers finished with multiple top-three finishes, providing substantial points for the team.
The Tigers continued their success in distance running competitions, taking the top three spots in the women's 1-mile run, with Rachel DeLancey finishing first (5:31.48) First-year Meredith Sierpina (5:43.40) and Madalyn Sailors (5:50.70) would finish second and third respectively.
In the 800-meter dash Annalise Grammel finished with a time of 2:28.82 for first place, and teammate Jess Gaumer earned third place with a time of 2:42.38.
On the field events side, DePauw's success continued with Reanna Stiehler finishing first in the weight throw (11.74/ 38-06.25) and second in the women's shot put (9.12/ 29-11.25). Teammate Mady Altman threw 8.22m / 26-11.75 to take third in the women's shot put.
Also scoring major points for DePauw was Erin Pasch who jumped 1.48m in the women's high jump, and Emma Stemen who vaulted nine feet and a quarter inch in the women's pole vault.
The Tigers will host their second triangular of the season on Friday, February 5, at 6 pm versus Greenville and Hanover.
