Tigers Extend Streak to Three with Win Over Wabash

Box Score

Crawfordsville, Ind.- The DePauw University men's basketball team beat the Wabash Little Giants, 86-75, on the road.

With an explosive performance by senior forward Nolan Ginther coupled with the versatility of fellow senior guard Nick Felke, the two would combine for 51 of the 86 points scored against the Little Giants.

In the opening 13 minutes of the first half, the Tigers and the Little Giants traded baskets and fouls. However, with eight minutes left in the half DePauw would go on an 8-0 run to take back the lead and finish the half up 44-37.

By the half, Ginther had already put in 20 points. The combination of committing only three turnovers in the half and capitalizing on Wabash's turnovers, DePauw found itself shooting about 58% from the field.

In the second half, the Little Giants tallied the first basket, cutting the Tigers' lead to five. Not giving Wabash an inch, DePauw quickly extended its lead to nine following a flurry of defensive stops by Felke.

Throughout the second-half, Wabash would tick away at the Tigers' lead, and despite turning the ball over six times in the second half, DePauw once again found its rhythm around the eight-minute mark and grew its lead to as much as 14 points in two minutes.

The Tigers improved to 3-0 and travel to Delaware, Ohio, to face Ohio Wesleyan University on Thursday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m.

I can receive a top notch education while competing at a high athletic level. The connections I will make at DePauw as well as being in the Management Fellows program were also very important factors as to why I chose DePauw.
