What course or professor impacted you the most at DePauw? Why?
Microeconomics with Professor Barreto was both the most challenging and rewarding class I have taken at DePauw.
What are your plans following senior year?
After graduation, I would like to pursue a career in media advertising.
What are some of your favorite memories as a DePauw student-athlete?
My favorite memories during my time running at DePauw include running in our post-season meets and cheering our runners on at nationals. However, the culture of the cross country team is unlike any other I've been a part of. When I joined the team, I met my best friends. My favorite moments didn't always revolve around running. It was often the walks to practice with my roommates, nights doing homework together, and hanging out as a team outside of practice. I am forever grateful I was able to be surrounded by such an amazing group of people day in and out.
What did you learn about yourself, while you were on your team?
While on this team, I was made to be more confident in who I am. Everyone on this team has the ability to be unapologetically themselves and be surrounded by people who support them, which is something extremely special.

That being on a team and working hard for those people is motivation and makes me want to be successful.

What course or professor impacted you the most at DePauw? Why?
Three professors had profound impacts on my experience at DePauw. Professor Ball in the kinesiology department pushed me to be the best student I can be. His fast-paced lectures and challenging coursework clicked with me. He is all-in for his students which is so admirable and sometimes hard to find in a professor! Professor Harvey in the chemistry department is the most patient and well-organized professor I've ever met. I respect him so much as a person and loved getting to know him better, despite his tough classes. Professor Crary is incredible-- she cares for every student as a person. She made me feel seen, heard, and understood in and out of the classroom.
What are your plans following senior year?
After a gap year of working at a nursing home or a hospital, I will attend Physician Assistant school.
What are some of your favorite memories as a DePauw student-athlete?
I loved being all-in with my teammates in all situations. We were with each other through insanely hard workouts, challenging meets, and the disappointments and accomplishments of our performances. Doing something as hard as running, with the same group of girls bonds you in a way you can't even imagine. The little moments of hugging each other after we cross the finish line, pushing ourselves together to our physical limits during practices, and showing up everyday to put solid work in are the moments that will stick with me the most.
What did you learn about yourself, while you were on your team?
Even though cross country and track can be seen as individual sports, my DePauw team showed me how these sports are actually team sports. I learned to run every meet for my team. My teammates supported each other during our best performances, and comforted each other during our lows. I also learned that the ability to run is such a gift. It's easy to fall into the routine of daily practices without keeping in mind that so many people do not have the ability or opportunity to run with a supportive, collegiate team. I learned not to take any run for granted because you never know when an injury, illness, problem, or any other issue can suddenly appear.

What course or professor impacted you the most at DePauw? Why?
Ted Bitner and the Honors Scholar course Medicine and Morality. This was my first introduction to bioethics. I loved the content of the class so much that it inspired me to apply for the Hillman Internship at Prindle my junior year and I have really developed a passion for ethics. I still work with Professor Bitner today with a research project studying children's moral reasoning skills and am excited to continue on this study next year.
What are your plans following senior year?
Graduate Fellow for the Prindle Institute for Ethics.
What are some of your favorite memories as a DePauw student-athlete?
My favorite memories are from some of our team traditions. For example, we eat dinner together every Thursday night at Hoover, Coach's beginning of the year cookout, team cheers, listening (and giving) senior speeches at our end of the year banquet, and more. The team truly feels like a family and that you are a part of something bigger.
What did you learn about yourself, while you were on your team?
After being injured spring season my sophomore year, I learned how to lead in ways beyond the physical running aspect of the sport. I learned that leadership takes the form of establishing meaningful relationships, that little things make a big difference, and that I could contribute so much to the team beyond just my times or place in a race.
