Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw University field hockey team had seven student-athletes recognized as members of the 2019 Zag Field Hockey/ NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.
This year 1,943 student-athletes from 157 Division III institutions earned this honor. This distinction highlights student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year.
Of the seven named to the National Academic Squad, two members of the team were recognized as four-year honorees; senior, Kelsey Doerr (St. Louis, Mo./ Cor Jesu Academy), and senior Kate Milner (St. Louis, Mo./ John Burroughs School).
Joining Doerr and Milner on the National Academic Squad is junior Cathy Zesiger (Oklahoma City, Okla./ Casady School), sophomores Christina Bourantas (Wilmington, Del./ Wilmington Christian School ), Sophie Metzger (Lake Forest, Ill./ Lake Forest), and Eva Nicholson (Cincinnati, Ohio/ Summit Country Day School); as well as freshman Libby Hennelly (Milwaukee, Wis./ Divine Savior Holy Angels).
The Tigers finished with an overall record of 10-9 and 5-3 in the NCAC granting them entrance into the NCAC Tournament Semifinal.
