DePauw Finishes Second at Hudsonville Quad

Hudsonville, Mich. - DePauw totaled 747.5 points and finished second at the Hudsonville Quad. Albion won with 919.5 points, while Hope was third with 711 and Franklin fourth with 689.

Ben Hilfinger recorded DePauw's two individual firsts as he won the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.62) and the 200 butterfly (1:55.49), while finishing second in the 200 individual medley (1:59.07).

The Tigers record two top-three finishes in the 500 free with Charlie Stewart-Bates placing second (4:50.12) and Tommy Hackley placing third (4:52.90). Stewart-Bates was also third in the 400 individual medley (4:22.37) and fifth in the 200 fly (2:02.43). Hackley was also a fourth-place finisher in the 200 free (1:46.62).

Other third-place finishes came from Jake Frech in the 50 free (22.31) and the 100 free (48.48) as well as Ian Longan in the 100 backstroke (55.39) and the 200 fly (2:00.36), Nikita Polyakov in the 1650 free (18:54.23) and Seth Fagen in the 200 back (1:58.82).

Rounding out the Tigers' fourth-place showings were Fagen (100 back/55.42), Max Steffey (100 fly/53.61), Xavier Fuller (100 breast/1:02.98) and Patrick Unterreiner (200 breast/2:17.78).

In its final tuneup prior to the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, DePauw hosts Chicago on Saturday, January 25, at 1 p.m.
