Henry Tosses Two-Hitter but Tigers Bow Out of Regional

Box Score

Greencastle, Ind. - In a battle of top 20 Division III programs, 19th-ranked and second-seeded Trine advanced to the NCAA Super Regional with a 1-0 win over 16th-ranked and top-seed DePauw in the Greencastle Regional. The Tigers' season ends at 33-14, while the Thunder move on with a 33-6 mark. Links to other box scores and press conferences is available here.

In the end, the game came down to one swing of the bat as Trine's Lainey McCue, who clubbed three homers in yesterday's win over the Tigers, hammered a 2-1 pitch over the fence in left for the game's only run.

The Tigers had leadoff batters on in three innings, but managed to advance just two runners to third in the contest. 

Kaylyn Linder, Jordyn Fera, Meghan Gonzalez and Abby Bass each had one hit for DePauw, while Makenna Hartline and McCue had one apiece for the Thunder.

Cami Henry took the loss and dropped to 18-8, but struck out 10 in the game including four looking. Kate Saupe improved to 15-2 after blanking DePauw over her seven innings.
